Parent's Guide to Special Education

Guía para padres sobre educación especial en Connecticut

Parents are vitally important to the special education decision making process.  A student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP) is designed and developed through the collaboration between families, teachers, administrators and related service providers in a Planning and Placement Team (PPT) meeting.  Through the PPT process, a special education program unique to the student’s needs is created if the child is found eligible for services.  The Parent’s Guide to Special Education is a comprehensive resource that provides information regarding laws, regulations and policies specific to special education.
